Resources
On this page, we provide solutions and resources for leaders beyond
songs and dramas.
Choose a resource from the list below for use in your organization.
In the future, imagine a web-based tool that will allow you to build
a worship service from start to finish by simply choosing from a list
of options (songs, dramas, worship readings, scripture references, topical
sermons, etc.). Please don't forget to give us feedback
so that we can make this part of the site valuable to you!

Subjects Smart Pastors Avoid
 |
| |
A framework for a teaching series, complete with ideas for songs,
multi-media segments, dramas, and features. (5 Topics)
Another title for this might be, "How To Empty A Church." These
are the tough issues and controversial subjects that people don't
want to hear, but are crucial to a healthy view of God. Avoid
coercion and manipulation - - leave the convincing to the Holy
Spirit! If your audience is largely unchurched, an explanation
(not an apology!) might be in order. (Click

Vanishing Virtues...
 |
| |
A framework for a teaching series, complete with ideas for songs,
multi-media segments, dramas, and features. (10 Topics)
This series of topics is taken from William Bennett's book, "The
Book of Virtues." The book contains an exhaustive resource of
stories, poems, nursery rhymes, and anecdotes on each subject,
and can provide excellent readings, script ideas, program (bulletin)
inserts, additional reading, etc. The book is a must for illustrating
these topics. (Click Here)

The Seven Deadlies...
 |
| |
A framework for a teaching series, complete with ideas for songs,
multi-media segments, dramas, and features. (7 Topics)
Lurking in the shadows of our lives, these seven life-stealers
rear their ugly heads at the most inopportune times, making them
a constant, to one degree or another, in everyone's lives. Fighting
them can seem futile, especially when they go unnoticed. Awareness
is often times half the battle, which is the primary objective
of this series. To contrast the negative realities of each topic,
be specific about how the trait limits us in our relationship
with God and why He desires for us to be in control of it (e.g.,
that it's for our benefit). (Click

Decisions
 |
| |
A framework for a teaching series, complete with ideas for songs,
multi-media segments, dramas, and features. (5 Topics)
The French philosopher Rene Descartes once said, "I think, therefore
I am." Too often, people want to amend that statement to read,
"I feel, therefore I am." That is to say, they want to narrow
down decision making to an emotional choice, regardless of the
moral, ethical, or social consequences. This series will raise
some tough issues, show that decisions are willful choices we
make in our minds, then define the biblical basis in choosing
correctly for each of the issues. (Click

The Unbound Bible
 |
| |
The Unbound Bible, created by Biola computer programmers Mark Johnson (97) and Jeremy Brown (99),
allows users to search 56 versions of the Bible, including the original Hebrew and Greek language
texts, four ancient texts, 10 English versions and 42 non-English translations. Users may also
select any three versions at a time to view in parallel format.
In addition to the Bible translations, popular Bible study aids are provided, including
"Matthew Henry's Commentary," "Torrey's Topical Textbook," Easton's Bible Dictionary," "Nave's
Topical Bible," "Paul's Missionary Journeys," Greek and Hebrew lexicons, a schedule for reading
the Bible through in one year, and a "verse of the day" mailing list. Each of these references
is cross-listed with the different versions, so someone living in Bucharest could receive the
"verse of the day" in the Cornilescu translation that is in the Romanian language.
Another feature of The Unbound Bible is the Greek lexical parser, which allows users to look up
any New Testament word to see how it was used in the original Greek text, such as what tense it
was in - past, present or future.
The two most recent additions include the option to create a personal account where users can
enter their own notes to view along with the text, and the availability of the site in Spanish
and French.
The Unbound Bible processes more than 1,000 requests daily and that number is steadily growing.
Currently, the programmers are working to make the texts downloadable, so those people living in
other countries - who often can't stay online for very long - can have continual access to the
information.
